1" ID Supply Line Options and Pump Adapting Guide for 23HP Machines

Many original hydraulic pumps FAIL due to undersized supply lines that rapidly cause pump starvation, cavitation and damage. Many are also missing the "strainer" pre-filter on the inside of the tank that protects your pump from sucking up tank debris.

Below are a couple example options for converting your existing supply lines (outlet and hoses from tank to pump inlet) to full 1" ID lines. 

You can do this in one of two ways, with hose barbs and double T clamps OR fittings and crimped hose. There is no pressure on the supply side, only suction, so a crimped hose is not required.

You are not required to use the exact parts listed as long as your entire path is 1" ID from tank outlet to pump inlet.

Hose barb and bulk hose options for tank outlet to pump inlet (straight is recommended but a 45 degree angle barb on the pump inlet is acceptable if needed):
For pump supply side, 1" hose barb/ 1" SAE -16 ORB Adapter Surplus Center
For tank supply outlet 1" hose barb / 1" NPTF Surplus Center
For bulk supply hose (order by the foot, cut to length) SAE 100R4 Discount Hydraulic Hose
Order stainless T clamps off amazon meant for 1" ID 32-37mm OD hose, 8pcs

For prior version pumps with SAE -12 ORB inlets, use a 1" hose barb to SAE -12 ORB adapter

Weld on tank outlet and strainer options:
Tank supply outlet, 1 1/2" NPT weld on bung McMaster Carr
Tank supply outlet strainer (required) 1 1/2" NPT to 1" NPT Surplus Center

There may be weldless bulkhead options for this but we haven't tested any yet. Bulkheads should be installed as far from the return inlet and as low as realistically possible.

With a crimped hose, you can have a hose made with a 1" SAE -16 ORB swivel and a 1" NPT end and use the same weld on bulkhead and filter above. Be mindful of your available space and your required hose length when ordering.

SAE -12 ORB male to SAE -10 ORB female, discount hydraulic hose
SAE -10 male to M22x1.5 thread 15mm tube DIN L male (this pressure hose thread is common, use different if needed based on your outlet hose thread size)

Pump outlet adapters for older version SAE -10 ORB outlet pumps:
